Tim Tebow

First Drive

  • Tebow gained a yard after keeping it on the read-option in his first play.
  • On third and seven, Tebow made an un-mechanically sound, yet effective pass to Mostert, who busted it for over 15 yards.
  • The drive ended after two first downs, after Tebow threw a high pass to Mostert that he couldn’t reel in and then overthrew Rasheed Bailey.

Second Drive

  • After a pick from Jaylen Watkins, the Eagles were set up inside the five and unable to score. All three downs went to carries from Mostert, though Tebow probably should have kept the third one, and ran against his body.

Third Drive

  • Tebow began the third drive by firing a strike to Jeff Maehl, who should have caught the ball. Hopefully Maehl doesn’t return to the Eagles for a third season.
  • The drive ended up as another three-and-out, with Tebow doing little to discourage the notion that if his first-read isn’t open, he becomes no threat to throw it.

Fourth Drive

  • After a failed screen pass caused them to lose a yard to start the drive, Tebow shook off a sack and ran for close to 15 yards. He avoided two sacks on the next play, but wasn’t able to complete a pass.
  • After Mostert ran for over 15 yards on a short pass, Tebow operated well in the pocket and hit Quron “not DeSean Jackson” Pratt for a first down.
  • The drive concluded with Tebow hitting Bailey in the endzone for a touchdown. The pass was placed well, though he probably could have led Bailey better. That pass most likely gets broken up in a regular season game.
  • Still, the drive was impressive given what Barkley did in the first half and was — dare I say — vintage Tebow.
