Sixers News: 2015-2016 Schedule Released

Though the arrival of the slate of games for the 2015-2016 NBA season probably doesn’t build the same level of excitement for Sixers fans as it does for others, it is nevertheless interesting to see how things shake out with the official release. Wednesday evening, the league revealed the entire schedule for each of its 30 teams for the upcoming season. The details as far as the Sixers were concerned starting trickling out well before the 5:30 PM unveiling.

Keith Pompey of the Philadephia Inquirer was first on the reported opponents for the Sixers.

It should come as no surprise that the Sixers did not land any national or holiday games, given their performance over the last two seasons. It will be entertaining to see them face off with the Lakers on New Years Day. Especially if both Jahlil Okafor and D’Angelo Russell are progressing well in their respective rookie seasons, that showdown could provide one of the larger scales that the Sixers play on all season.

"The Philadelphia 76ers today announced their schedule for the 2015-16 regular season, which opens on the road against long-time rival Boston on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 7:30 p.m.Following the game against the Celtics, the Sixers home opener is vs. Utah on Friday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m.  The Sixers final home game is against Milwaukee on Sunday, Apr. 10 at 5 p.m. and the regular season finale is at Chicago on Wednesday, Apr. 13 at 8 p.m.Here are some highlights from the Sixers 2015-16 home schedule:Monday, Nov. 2 vs. Cleveland at 7 p.m.: LeBron James and the defending Eastern Conference Champion Cavaliers make the first of two trips to Philly with the second coming on Sunday, Jan. 10 at 6 p.m.Monday, Nov. 9 vs. Chicago at 7 p.m.: Derrick Rose looks to regain his MVP form alongside All-Stars Jimmy Butler and Pau Gasol in this early season matchupTuesday, Dec. 1 vs. L.A.
