I can see Emmanuel Mudiay going anywhere in this draft between the 2nd and 7th overall picks. A team in need of a franchise-type player will probably value him higher than a team like the Sixers, who already appear to have a potential cornerstone in Joel Embiid. When drafting from their perspective, one would have to think they’d prefer a player that maximizes Embiid’s strengths. With that in mind, Mudiay’s shooting struggles pose the potential problem of teams sagging into the paint until he convinced them to do otherwise.

For the purposes of this exercise, I attempted to maintain a mindset of ‘how would the 76ers evaluate this player?’ Sam Hinkie has done his homework on the player and could be aware of characteristics he possesses that make him a more attractive option to Philadelphia than what I’ve observed. All Hinkie has shown us in his tenure as GM is that trying to nail down his plan is a fruitless endeavor. He may value Mudiay higher than anyone in the draft. That being said, from what I’ve seen and based on his make-up as a player, I don’t envision many scenarios that end with Mudiay in Philadelphia.
