In Phillies pitching history, Roberts is the leader in wins above replacement with 69.7, according to Baseball-Reference. Wins above replacement isn’t the only statistical category that Roberts was the franchise leader, either. In Phillies history, Roberts ranks first in complete games (272), innings pitched (3,739.1) and total games (529).
Roberts was second in wins (234) and strikeouts (1,871) in his time with the Phillies. In his time with Philadelphia, Roberts also finished 3rd in shutouts (35), 7th in ERA+, 12th in ERA and 14th in FIP.
Roberts was great during his time with the Phillies and was inducted to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1976, which was his fourth year on the ballot, and received a vote on 86.9 percent of ballots. The list of accolades isn’t to the level of Carlton, but formidable in its own right.
