The Philadelphia Eagles have been looking at ways to improve the roster for the 2025 season in an attempt to win back-to-back championships.
The foundation of the team is still strong, but they used the NFL Draft as an outlet to supplement the roster. The Eagles had 10 total picks, and they were able to get one of the best players on their boards with Alabama LB Jihaad Campbell.
While many people inside the building and around the organization are happy with this addition, there was some concerning information that was revealed. Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer released a piece with some post-draft nuggets, and he said there are some injury concerns around Campbell.
Breer wrote, "Alabama LB Jihaad Campbell is a little like two years ago with Jalen Carter. In both cases, there was a reason why the guy was available. With Carter, it was a checkered off-field history that Philly felt well-qualified to manage. With Campbell, it’s his shoulders and knees (yes, plural on both counts). And, again, this is one where the Eagles are more equipped to take on the risk than others, because they don’t need the pick to hit."

Jihaad Campbell Has Some Injury Concerns
Campbell slid down the board in large part due to these injury concerns. After the draft, Howie Roseman said the team doesn't have concerns long term, but that doesn't mean it may not become something to keep an eye on.
Last month, Campbell underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum but didn't go into specifics on when he suffered the injury. He also got his knee scoped back in 2023, so these gave teams some cause for concern.
These are things to watch out for, but when on the field, Campbell has the traits needed to be a standout defender on the second level. He has great speed to run all over the field and be a secure tackler. The New Jersey native also has promise in coverage.
In 35 collegiate games, Campbell had 184 total tackles, 15.5 TFLs, 5.5 sacks, seven pass breakups, and two forced fumbles. Whether he can stay healthy is something that will be a talking point, but it shouldn't be a surprise if he struggles to stay on the field throughout his career. Hopefully, that's not the case for him and the Eagles' sake.
