Philadelphia Eagles fans had a great time as the Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl LIX. Sunday night’s victory was the second Super Bowl win in franchise history and many took the streets of New Orleans to celebrate the latest Lombardi Trophy coming to Philadelphia.
While most fans caught a glimpse either at the Caesar’s Superdome or on their televisions, some lucky fans got to hold the trophy in the postgame celebration. One of those fans happened to be a Philadelphia native who is a top prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft and had a good time celebrating with his childhood team on Sunday night.
Top NFL Draft Prospect Abdul Carter Celebrates With Eagles After Super Bowl Win
Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter was present during the Super Bowl celebration as the projected top-five pick showed up in an Eagles hoodie with his name and No. 11 on it. Carter also posted a photo with defensive lineman Jalen Carter on his Instagram story while holding the Lombardi Trophy.

Carter is a Philadelphia native, who grew up as an Eagles fan and posted a photo decked out in black and green on his Instagram account after they won the NFC Championship. It’s only natural that he would want to celebrate the win. Then again, he could be trying to prove a point as he posted that “defense wins championships” on Sunday night in a bid to convince the Tennessee Titans to select him with the No. 1 overall pick.
But the visuals of this are a little strange. Carter is currently projected toward the top of April’s draft and the Eagles would need to trade up or have the Penn State star tank the combine to select him with the 32nd overall pick. While there’s no sign the Eagles were tampering with the prospect, it may have raised the eyebrows of general managers who will dig as deep as they can before making him a franchise cornerstone.
It probably won’t be enough to have Carter tumble down draft boards, but it’s a storyline to monitor as the Eagles shift from celebrating the Super Bowl to preparing for the 2025 NFL Draft.
