The 2025 NFL Draft was the last major event on the league calendar before the season rolls around. Teams used that as an outlet to add more players to the team but also used undrafted free agents as another outlet.
The Eagles have rookie minicamp kicking off on May 2, and they have invited countless players in for a workout. They are even hitting different generations of former Eagle players. According to James Simone, Philadelphia has invited LB/S R.J. Moten to minicamp. He's the son of former Eagle LB Ron Moten, who was drafted in the sixth round of the 1987 NFL draft.

He previously attended the Eagles local pro day and he must have shown flashes of potential.

Eagles Invite R.J. Moten to Rookie Minicamp
Moten spent the past five seasons at Michigan and Florida. Over the first four years, he played safety before moving to linebacker last season with the Gators. In 47 career games, Moten had 96 total tackles, seven TFLs, five pass deflections, and two sacks.
Moten is an aware zone defender who does a good job stepping up as a run defender. He's listed at 6-foot, 229 pounds, so there is a possibility he could be a sub LB in the pros, but he has his work cut out for himself.
This is just a workout, so nothing is guaranteed. For him to land a roster spot, this minicamp gives him a chance to impress the coaching staff and get an invite to OTAs and training camp.
GM Howie Roseman has a history of bringing in the sons of former players. Last year, the Eagles drafted LB Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in the fifth round. His father played for Philadelphia over the course of eight seasons.
We'll see if Moten gets a chance to stick on the roster and this is a great first step to achieving that goal.
