The Philadelphia Eagles are getting set to play the Green Bay Packers later this week in Brazil to open up Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season.

The Eagles hope to set the tone with an opening season win over the Packers. However, before taking off for Sao Paulo, Brazil, Philadelphia made a minor roster move on the offensive side of the ball.

According to Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia, veteran offensive lineman Jack Driscoll was seen in the Eagles’ locker room on Tuesday. The Eagles officially announced the signing, along with wide receiver Kyle Philips. To make room for Driscoll and Philips on the practice squad, Philadelphia released tight end Kevin Foelsch and safety Caden Sterns.

The 27-year-old offensive lineman was released by the Miami Dolphins last month after signing with the club in the offseason.

Before signing with the Dolphins in free agency, Driscoll spent the last four seasons with the Eagles. The 6-foot-5 offensive lineman was drafted in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft by Philadelphia.

Driscoll appeared in 54 games and made 17 starts in his first stint with the Eagles. In 2021, the former fourth pick made nine starts at right guard after veteran Brandon Brooks was placed on injured reserve due to a pectoral strain.

After that season, the former Auburn offensive lineman made four starts over the last two years at tackle. The Eagles bringing back Driscoll gives them a reliable depth option on the offensive line, who can play guard or tackle.

Nonetheless, the Eagles hope Driscoll doesn’t have to make any starts this season as they look to break in a new offensive line unit.
