Training camps across the NFL start this week, as several teams prepare for the upcoming regular season. The Philadelphia Eagles are one of the many teams that will begin camp next week, as rookies and vets report to the NovaCare Complex on July 22.
Training camp and the preseason are also one of the more important and intriguing parts of the NFL calendar, as this is the time for undrafted rookies, vets, and fringe players at the bottom of the roster to make their case on why they should be on the 53-man roster.
However, as we know, not everyone will make the final cut later this summer. Some guys will be placed on the practice squad, while others will be released before the roster deadline in hopes of finding a new opportunity.
For one former Philadelphia Eagles running back, he didn’t even get a chance to participate in training camp with his new team before they cut ties with him.
Ex-Eagles RB Tyrion Davis-Price Kicked to Curb by Tennessee Titans
On Thursday, Titans senior writer/editor Jim Wyatt reported Tennessee waived former Eagles running back Tyrion Davis-Price. The Titans signed running back Jordan Mims earlier in the day, making the ex-Eagle expendable.
Davis-Price just joined the Titans at the beginning of last month on a one-year deal. The Eagles parted ways with the former San Francisco 49ers’ third-round pick in May, after adding a couple of new faces following the 2025 NFL Draft.
The 24-year-old running back initially joined the Eagles following the 2023 season. They signed the young running back to a futures/reserve deal in February 2024 after the 49ers didn’t extend him a similar contract after putting him on the taxi squad.
Davis-Price didn’t make the Eagles’ 53-man roster last summer following the preseason, but they kept him around on the practice squad. The 24-year-old running back finally made his Eagles’ debut in Week 17 against the Dallas Cowboys.
He didn’t do much in his limited action, recording seven yards on three carries in Philly’s blowout win over the Cowboys. The Eagles retained Davis-Price after winning Super Bowl 59, giving him another futures/reserve deal, but as we mentioned earlier, they finally moved on.
The young running back has struggled to find his footing in the league, dating back to his time with the 49ers. However, the good news for him is that he’s only 24 years old and could still find a new opportunity between now and the start of the preseason.
