The Philadelphia Eagles have a well-constructed team thanks to Howie Roseman. They used the 2025 NFL Draft to bring in some players who have high upside. At the same time, Philadelphia signed some undrafted free agents and extended invites to others for rookie minicamps.
That will run from May 2-3 for the Eagles, but a receiver they invited decided to turn them away. BYU WR Darius Lassiter signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was invited to the Eagles' rookie minicamp, but after landing a deal with Jacksonville, he made his choice to go there.
It appears as though BYU WR Darius Lassiter has signed with the Jaguars.

Lassiter was reported invited to the Eagles rookie minicamp and obviously won’t be participating in that event now. https://t.co/b18BOg9NFQ
Darius Lassiter Is Signing With the Jacksonville Jaguars
You can't blame Lassiter for signing with the Jags since he got an actual deal instead of just a workout in Philadelphia. The Eagles have A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith as their 1-2 punch but everything is up for grabs after that.
They are looking for competition this summer and eyed Lassiter as someone who would have the chance to step up. Lassiter looked at the Jags as the better fit and he has a shot to stick on the roster. After Brian Thomas Jr., Travis Hunter, and Dyami Brown, Jacksonville is open to anything at the position. Liam Coen is the new head coach after coming over from Tampa Bay and is looking to reshape the offense.
Over three seasons at BYU and Eastern Michigan, he reeled in 114 catches for 1,539 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. Lassiter looks to bring his same attitude over to Jacksonville but could come to regret that decision.
Although he didn't have a deal with Philadelphia, they are the better team and could set him up for more success. In the same breath, landing a contract is a dream come true for Lassiter and gives him the comfort going into the rookie minicamp.
