The Philadelphia Phillies are headed back to the NLCS. Manager Rob Thomson helped lead his team to a second straight National League Championship Series by defeating the Atlanta Braves 3-1 in the NLDS.

Now fans are itching to know who Philadelphia will face with a trip to the World Series on the line.

Phillies NLCS Opponent 2023

The Phillies are set to face the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2023 NLCS. Arizona finished the season with an 84-78 record, claiming the final National League Wild Card spot. The D-Backs began the playoffs on the road against the Milwaukee Brewers, whom they swept 2-0.

Arizona then took on the juggernaut Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLDS, but they had even more success in this round, sweeping L.A. 3-0. Torey Lovullo's squad put up 19 runs, while the pitching staff held Los Angeles to just two runs in each contest.

The dates for each game of the NLCS have already been released.

  • Game 1: Monday, October 16 (TBS)
  • Game 2: Tuesday, October 17 (FOX/FS1)
  • Game 3: Thursday, October 19 (FOX/FS1)
  • Game 4: Friday, October 20 (FOX/FS1)
  • Game 5: Saturday, October 21 (FOX/FS1) *if needed
  • Game 6: Monday, October 23 (FOX/FS1) *if needed
  • Game 7: Tuesday, October 24 (FOX/FS1) *if needed

This is a best-of-7 series, so Game 5, 6 and 7 will only be played if needed.

As the top-seeded team in this matchup, Philadelphia will be at home for Games 1, 2, 6 and 7, while Arizona hosts Games 3, 4 and 5.
