The Philadelphia Eagles have done a remarkable job changing things around this offseason after the 2023 season ended in flames, where they dropped six of their last seven games.

That led to Philly changing both coordinators, bringing in Kellen Moore and Vic Fangio to be in charge of the offense and defense.

Fangio has experience in the NFL dating back to 1986 and has the reputation of being a no-nonsense coach, which is apparent in Philly after a few months.

The 65-year-old coach wasted no time calling out a young defender.

Eagles News: Nakobe Dean Gets Called Out by Vic Fangio

When speaking with reporters on Monday, Fangio said that linebacker Nakobe Dean "took a step back at the stadium practice" after he had some good practices earlier in camp.

Dean will have a chance to make his mark during the preseason as he looks to solidify his role within the defense.

It's been a rocky start to his Eagles tenure for the former Georgia Bulldog. Last season, he suffered two injuries to his feet, including a Lisfranc sprain in his left foot that ended his year.

Dean came into the league as an explosive defender who has amazing speed at his position. It's been tough for him to put everything together, logging 43 total tackles, three tackles for loss, and one QB hit over the last two seasons.

The preseason will be massive for Dean, in terms of impressing the coaching staff and defining his spot for the 2024 season.

Philly also brought in Devin White in free agency, as they looked to bolster the linebacker group. The pressure is on Dean to show up.
