New Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio has a challenge ahead of him this season as he tries to turn around a defense that fell off in the second half of the 2023 season and looked like a shell of itself.

However, Fangio has the players at all three levels on the defense to fix this beleaguered unit, which starts with the defensive line. Philadelphia’s defensive line underwent a massive change in the offseason as Fletcher Cox retired, Haason Reddick was traded to the New York Jets, and the team signed Bryce Huff to a three-year deal.

Despite all those changes on the defensive line, there’s one constant that Fangio will lean on – Brandon Graham. Graham is entering his 15th and final season in the NFL as he will hang up the cleats at the end of the 2024 campaign.

On Monday, Fangio was asked if the veteran defensive end will be used more than he was last year. The new defensive coordinator said, “Yeah, I told him to be ready. There’s no pitch count on him if that’s what you’re asking.”

Eagles News: Brandon Graham to Have A Larger Role This Season

Last season, the 36-year-old Graham posted 16 combined tackles, six quarterback hits, four tackles for loss, and three sacks. The veteran also played 34 percent of defensive snaps (395), which was the second-lowest number in his illustrious career, and didn’t start in any games.

With the Eagles not having Reddick or Cox, they will be looking for Graham to play an integral role on defense and help lead the young players on the line.
