Struggling New Eagle in More Trouble After Latest Development
The Philadelphia Eagles have been aggressive this offseason in terms of improving the team. After a disastrous ending to the 2023 season, they made sure to improve the roster.
In the offseason, they added Saquon Barkley, Bryce Huff, Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean, and Devin White, who are going to have an impact this fall.
The Eagles also added quarterback Kenny Pickett in March but the latest report isn't great news for the signal caller.
Eagles News: Tanner McKee Is Getting Second Team Reps
According to EJ Smith of the Philadelphia Inquirer, quarterback Tanner McKee was seen getting second-team reps during Sunday's practice.
This may have caught some fans by surprise after the Eagles acquired Pickett back in March. The deal had the Steelers getting a 2024 third-round pick and two 2025 seventh-round picks in exchange for Pickett and a 2024 fourth-rounder.
Throughout the first two weeks of training camp, McKee has outplayed Pickett. He has some fans inside the building after being selected in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
Although he didn't suit up last season, he's clearly gained the truth of the coaching staff.
Many people believed that Pickett would be the No. 2 QB easily but the Stanford product is putting up a fight.
Through two seasons, Pickett completed 62% of his passes for 4,474 yards, 13 passing touchdowns, and 13 interceptions. Those stats aren't appealing to the eye and make the preseason that more critical for Pickett.
The first preseason matchup happens on Aug. 9 against the Baltimore Ravens and Pickett will need to play some good ball to move up on the depth chart.
