The Philadelphia Eagles have been one of the most active and aggressive teams this offseason. They made plenty of big-time signings and arguably the most exciting one was RB Saquon Barkley.

The two sides agreed on a three-year, $37.75 million deal to make him the new weapon in the backfield.

The move came as a shocker due to Barkley playing with the New York Giants for six years. The 2018 second-overall pick was a guest on the "New Heights" podcast hosted by former Eagle Jason Kelce and Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce and spoke about how another team had interest in him first.

"Probably the team that had my first interest was Houston. I got to communicate with C.J. and a couple of those boys, but this was before when you could actually put offers on the table and talk to teams,” Barkley said.

Eagles News: Philadelphia Didn't Have Saquon Barkley's Interest At First

He added, "Then, as it got closer, and you start hearing word and Philly, I probably never imagined myself playing for Philly six years ago, but I get to come back to Pennsylvania, my family is from Pennsylvania, my lady, our kids, grandmas all that is from Pennsylvania and we’re already close and we can even get to get closer and get a chance to compete."

It's funny how quickly things can change in the NFL and this is a prime example. Of course, it made sense that there was mutual interest between Houston and Barkley but there are more decision factors. Location is one of them and Barkley wanted to be closer to family.

The combination of location and the Eagles' stacked roster made Barkley's choice easier to come to the city of Brotherly Love.
