Saquon Barkley's Daughter Roasted Giants After Eagles Signing
By Cem Yolbulan
One of the signature moves of free agency for the Philadelphia Eagles was poaching star running back Saquon Barkley from the New York Giants. Signing the two-time Pro Bowl rusher to a three-year, $37.7 million deal, the Eagles weakened an NFC East rival by luring a fan favorite.
Giants fans were understandably upset that their best offensive player of the last six seasons left in free agency, but Barkley himself doesn't seem to mind moving on to greener pastures.
Well, at least his daughter certainly doesn't.
Eagles News: Saquon Barkley's Daughter Roasts Giants
In a video interview after he signed with Philadelphia, the 27-year-old rusher told the story of what his daughter said. "Does that mean we are going to win now?" were the first things coming out of her mouth after her father signed with the Eagles.
This is a fair comment from a smart kid. The Giants only had one winning season during Barkley's tenure.
And that was in 2022 when the Giants fell to the Eagles in the divisional round while Philadelphia made it all the way to the Super Bowl. That is the only season Barkley played in the playoffs, and it ended in a 38-7 loss to the Eagles.
Barkley can't hide his smile when he is talking about this interaction. He recalls his answer to his daughter as "hopefully, we will win more games".
That is exactly what Eagles fans are hoping for as well. Philadelphia currently has the fourth-best odds (+750) in the NFC to make the Super Bowl. Hopefully, Saquon Barkley can deliver what his daughter is hoping for and make his first Super Bowl appearance.
