Quez Watkins’ tenure with the Philadelphia Eagles was quite polarizing as he made some good plays but also had some crucial drops in various games that spoiled his career in the city of Brotherly Love.

Watkins was a part of the infamous 2020 NFL draft class that saw the Eagles take Jalen Reagor in the first round and Jalen Hurts in the second round.

As a sixth-round pick, fans were excited to see what Watkins could do with the Eagles, as he has the speed to take the top of the defense. But those big plays never came to fruition, as Watkins only scored six touchdowns in his four years with the Eagles.

That said, it wasn’t surprising that the Eagles did not re-sign the 25-year-old receiver, who was an unrestricted free agent. However, it appears Watkins will not be leaving the Keystone State.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported on Monday that Watkins is signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers. We don’t know the terms of the contract, but one would guess the former Eagles wide receiver is inking a one-year deal with the Steelers.

The Steelers are the perfect team for Watkins to try and carve out a role, as they lack receivers with speed and guys who can take the top off the defense.

Pittsburgh shockingly traded veteran wide receiver Diontae Johnson to the Carolina Panthers earlier this month for veteran cornerback Donte Jackson, so they need depth at that spot. This past season with the Eagles, Watkins only had 15 receptions (21 targets) for 142 yards and a touchdown.
