As competitive as the NFL is, it can also be a fraternity sometimes. Once players and coaches get close with each other, they tend to maintain those relationships and help each other out in times of need.

That might explain why Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was willing to give some advice to Nick Sirianni -- the head coach of Reid's former team in Philadelphia.

According to a story by Jeff McLane for The Philadelphia Inquirer, Sirianni reached out to Reid during his second season as the Eagles' head coach in 2022. Philadelphia had started the season 6-0 before its bye week, and Sirianni was seeking advice on how to take advantage of the additional prep time and keep his team rolling after its bye week.

Reid, who is an impressive 21-3 after the bye week as a head coach, was happy to help. He gave the younger Sirianni some pointers to navigate the unusual break in the NFL schedule, which Sirianni followed -- including taking a trip to New York City with his wife.

Sure enough, Reid's advice paid off. The Eagles dominated the Pittsburgh Steelers 35-13 after the bye last year and picked up where they left off, finishing the year 14-3 en route to a Super Bowl appearance.

Little did Reid know, he and Sirianni would end up meeting in the Super Bowl as their teams battled for a championship. Reid proved why he's the master once again, leading Kansas City to a thrilling 38-35 victory over Philadelphia.

The Eagles will have a chance for revenge in Week 11, however, when they travel to Arrowhead for a Super Bowl rematch on Monday Night Football. Philadelphia is coming off its bye week, too, so time will tell if Sirianni effectively uses Reid's strategies against him.
