Jordan Davis Unveils Shocking Body Change Ahead of 2024 Season
The Philadelphia Eagles' 2024 season will revolve around a changing of the guard as the team's younger core players take on bigger roles from departing or aging veterans.
One contributor many hope to see more from this year is Jordan Davis, who took positive steps forward in 2023 but hasn't lived up to his No. 13 selection just yet.
Ahead of a crucial season for his development, it appears Davis is making one major change.
Davis showed off a shocking new physique at the Eagles' Autism Foundation event over the weekend. He looks significantly leaner around his core, but still remains absolutely jacked in his upper torso.
It's a genuine surprise to see Davis looking this slim. He checked in at 341 pounds during the combine before being selected by Philadelphia, and the team's official depth chart lists him at 336 pounds. That's the third-highest mark among all players on the squad right now, trailing only offensive tackles Jordan Mailata (365) and Mekhi Becton (363), and tops on the defense.
Davis may be taking inspiration from fellow DT Jalen Carter in his weight loss. Carter was listed at only 314 pounds during his dominant rookie year, and Davis is possibly approaching that range if he stays at this build going into training camp.
There's plenty on the line for Davis heading into this third NFL season, so taking any steps to possibly improve is great to see. He admitted he let the team down during the second half of last campaign, with his lack of conditioning playing a role in his effort leaving something to be desired. As a result, it makes sense he'd address his size to hopefully realize his full potential.
For now, Eagles fans will eagerly await to see what number Davis enters the season at, and if it has any major impact on his play.
