It's a massive week in Philadelphia as WrestleMania 40 takes over Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday and Sunday. The 'Showcase of the Immortals' is the biggest professional wrestling spectacle and there's no doubt that the WWE will put on quite the show for the first WrestleMania in Philly since 1999.

While wrestling tends to be the main attraction every April, WrestleMania is also known to feature its fair share of celebrities. Rappers Lil Wayne and Meek Mill — a Philadelphia native — are expected to appear this weekend, and now another local icon is reportedly in the mix.

Eagles News: Jason Kelce Contacted for WrestleMania 40 Appearance

Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp reports that WWE officials "have reached out to Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason Kelce." The former seven-time Pro Bowl center announced his retirement last month but has made it clear that he wants to continue being involved in the City of Brotherly Love.

Considering how the 36-year-old has made it a habit of stealing the show at non-football sporting events in Philly, I'd be shocked if he doesn't make a WrestleMania appearance.

While playing football was the right decision for Kelce, it isn't hard to imagine him finding success as a professional wrestler. Standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 295 pounds, the former Cincinnati Bearcat has the physical tools to take on WrestleMania main eventers like Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns.

But being a wrestler isn't all about size. You have to have the skills to cut a promo (trash-talking opponents), too. There's no doubt that Kelce could hold his own on the microphone too, given that he's one of the most charismatic players in NFL history and consistently showcases his timing on the "New Heights" podcast with his brother, Travis.

When it comes to how Kelce could be involved this weekend, there are a few ways. For starters, celebrities have been known to make random in-ring appearances. It was only last year that Snoop Dogg got in the mix and dropped a People's Elbow — The Rock's signature move — after an impromptu match between Shane McMahon and The Miz prematurely ended due to injury.

The company has also been running a promotion where various celebrities — ranging from Justin Bieber to Tiffany Haddish — get a chance to possess the Golden WWE Championship. Snoop Dogg gifted the title to the Eagles back in December, so it'd be fitting if Kelce showed up with it at the Linc on Saturday or Sunday.

Lastly, there's always a chance that Kelce could get involved in a main-event showdown. If The Rock and Reigns beat Rhodes and Rollins in a tag team match on Saturday, Sunday's championship bout between Reigns and Rhodes becomes 'Bloodline Rules,' meaning anything goes. An appearance by Kelce during that match would certainly fire the crowd up, especially if he's helping the good guys.

At the end of the day, it's clear that Kelce's charismatic ways and professional wrestling are a match made in heaven. Time will tell if the two worlds will collide this weekend.

WrestleMania 40 is a two-day event that will air exclusively on Peacock this weekend. Saturday and Sunday's broadcasts both start at 7 p.m. ET.
