Jason Kelce Admits Harsh Truth About Early Retirement Stage
By Jovan Alford
Former Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman and future Hall of Famer Jason Kelce is getting adjusted to life after football after officially retiring from the NFL last week.
Jason and his brother Travis posted a new episode of the New Heights Podcast discussing the Eagles signing star running back Saquon Barkley. Jason expressed his excitement for Barkley as he enters a better situation.
However, Kelce also mentioned that fans have asked him if wants to come back to play. The 36-year-old Kelce re-affirmed that he doesn’t want to play. However, the Eagles legend said in jest that he’s “a little bit upset Howie (Roseman) waited ‘til I retired to make a move like this.”
The recently retired offensive lineman added that “It sucks. I want to be a part of this so bad. I wish I could.” But Kelce added towards the end of the clip that he’ll still get a chance to enjoy this Eagles team as a Philadelphian.
One can only imagine how explosive Philadelphia’s ground attack will be this upcoming season, with Barkley now in the fold for the foreseeable future.
If you are an Eagles fan, it would’ve been awesome to see Kelce paving the way for Barkley in front of fans at Lincoln Financial Field. Now Kelce will sit back and watch how everything plays out in what should hopefully be a good season for the birds.
