The Eagles in general might be in big trouble against the red-hot Saints in Week 3, but star QB Jalen Hurts certainly is after the latest A.J. Brown injury update.

Brown has officially been ruled out, and Hurts' pitiful performance without his world-beating WR is staggering. With Brown, Hurts is perhaps the best signal caller in the NFL. Without him, he's a journeyman backup.

We saw Hurts' dependance on Brown in Week 1, completing five passes for 119 yards and a long TD. In Week 2, Hurts threw for just 183 yards and an interception, ultimately falling to the Falcons on a late TD. Unless Philadelphia's offense can adjust, they're one of the most likely losses of the week.

Jalen Hurts Goes From Great to Gross Without A.J. Brown

As Colin Cowherd explains, Brown has had an MVP-like impact on every roster he's been on. Hurts goes from Patrick Mahomes-esque to Nathan Peterman with one subtraction, and now must go against the hottest team in the league without his Avenger.

After the disastrous meltdown against the Falcons, the Eagles desperately need a win. Unfortunately, the offense craters without Brown.

Our friends at Sports Illustrated poignantly described the impact, and the results aren't pretty. DeVonta Smith is more of a precise route-runner than a true downfield or red-zone threat and Philadelphia's offense lacks the kind of weapon that Brown provides.

Based purely on preseason expectations, the Eagles should run away with this game. After the first two weeks, they suddenly find themselves as 2.5-point underdogs against the Saints this Sunday at FanDuel Sportsbook. That's terrible news and speaks to how much trouble Hurts finds himself in.
