Jalen Carter Rips Eagles Fans After In-Game Tears
By Thomas Erbe
The Philadelphia Eagles got blown out at home on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, a game the latter had circled on their calendar since losing to the Birds in last year's NFC Championship matchup.
The thin ice the Eagles have been skating on all season long finally broke through and they were exposed by a very hungry Niners squad. Even with the loss, though, the Birds are still hanging onto the top-seed in the NFC with a showdown in Dallas up next.
The loss didn't go over well with anyone in green, including rookie defensive lineman Jalen Carter.
Emotions were high all night at the Linc with scuffles taking place both on and off the field. It's massive tough luck for Carter that the cameras caught his vulnerable moment because you know it's immediately going on the internet and the City of Brotherly Love is going to let you know how they feel about it. The mistake Carter made was clapping back.
Jalen Carter comes at Eagles fans after crying in loss to 49ers
At first, I thought Eagles fans were a little harsh on Carter. Remember that he came from the University of Georgia. The guy probably had not taken any sort of big-game L since high school. He's emotional and cares, that's what you want.
But then he clapped back. Big mistake. I know he's a rookie, but now's the time to learn. This is Philly, my friend. No matter how good you are at football, your skin is going to have to get a lot thicker than this if you're going to make it in this town. Even when these fans are wrong, they're right.
Birds fans are a proud people. And they aren't broke - no matter how hard they try to make you believe.
