5 Free Agent Signings the Eagles Should Make Following Trade Deadline
By Randy Gurzi
4. Cory Littleton, Linebacker
The Eagles have options at linebacker with Zach Cunningham, Nakobe Dean, and Nicholas Morrow. Even so, this is an area where they could use a little help. Dean currently has a 59.7 rating with Pro Football Focus and Cunningham is sitting at 66.4. Neither are necessarily liabilities, but they're not going to blow anyone away.
That's why another veteran who can push them — and potentially fill in if needed — would make a lot of sense. One option still available is Cory Littleton, who was once a Pro Bowl selection for the Los Angeles Rams when they were a powerhouse defensive team. During his tenure in L.A., Littleton had 315 tackles, 8.5 sacks, and six interceptions. He was able to benefit from playing behind Aaron Donald but the Eagles also possess a monstrous defensive line right now that could help him.
Over the past two seasons, he's bounced around the league a bit. He was with the Carolina Panthers in 2022 and had 47 tackles with a half-sack and two pass defenses. This year, he recorded one tackle in six games for the Houston Texans but was released recently.
While he wasn't a fit in Houston, he did have a rating of 72.2 by PFF last year with Carolina. Perhaps he might fit better in Philly and give them some depth at one of their few weak spots.
