The Philadelphia Eagles front office received a significant blow this offseason as Jake Rosenberg, the team’s vice president of football operations, left the organization after the 2024 NFL Draft.

Rosenberg was highly regarded in Philadelphia as he was Howie Roseman’s closest advisor and helped with various facets of the salary cap. When the news came down that Rosenberg was leaving the organization, many wondered what the Eagles would do, but more importantly, what the former VP would do next.

On Thursday morning, we found out that Rosenberg will be staying in the world of sports, but taking his talents to the collegiate level. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Rosenberg and his consulting group will work with the University of Oklahoma’s Athletic Department.

The NFL insider adds Rosenberg and his group will help advise “on their impending transition to the salary cap era of college athletics.

Based on his track record with the Eagles and helping them become one of the better teams in the NFL at managing the salary cap, it doesn’t come as a surprise to see colleges trying to learn from Rosenberg and utilize his expertise.

College sports and NIL have become a big thing over the last few years and will only continue to get bigger as these programs establish their footprint in trying to attract the top players across the country.

At the same time, College football doesn’t have a ‘salary cap.’ But with Rosenberg’s negotiation skills, the University of Oklahoma can learn a thing or two as they work with athletes to create the best situation possible.
