Former Eagle Wants Another Trade Before Debuting With New Team
The NFL offseason has been a roller coaster of moves, news, and trades. In terms of the Philadelphia Eagles, it's been a couple of months of roster reconstruction.
General manager Howie Roseman was the key architect for reshaping the Eagles team and it started this spring. They were able to snag free agents like Saquon Barkley, Bryce Huff, and Chauncey Gardner-Johnson to name a few.
They also shipped out EDGE Haason Reddick to the New York Jets in April for a conditional third-round pick. But he's been causing drama since stepping foot in New York and things took a dramatic turn on Monday.
NFL News: Haason Reddick Request Trade From New York Jets
According to Jordan Schultz, Reddick has informed the team that he would like to be traded. The 29-year-old has been holding out of training camp as he looked for an extension.
Reddick is heading into the final year of his deal and is slated to make $14.25 million in 2024. He reportedly wants to be paid in the range of $25-$30 million annually.
The Jets seem unwilling to give him that which has led to conflict.
This isn't surprising if you're an Eagle fan. Reddick was seeking a raise last year from Philly but didn't get it. He asked for the same thing this offseason which led to him being shipped out.
Now four months after the trade, the deal looks even better. Especially after the Eagles signed Huff to a three-year, $51 million deal in March.
To make things worse, Reddick reportedly informed the Jets that he would report to camp on his current deal but that never happened. And now a trade request has come.
Things are looking very messy over in New York.
