While the majoirty of NFL teams were in action Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles weren't one of them, as they're waiting for kickoff Monday night versus the Atlanta Falcons. This late start gave Philly the rare chance to sit back and watch their rivals across the league.

Considering how Sunday played out, Nick Sirianni and company sure have to love what they saw.

Three of the teams Philadelphia expects to compete for the NFC title this season all fell in Week 2. The San Francisco 49ers lost 23-17 on the road against the Minnesota Vikings, the Detroit Lions were taken down at home by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Dallas Cowboys got straight up embarrassed by the New Orleans Saints in a 44-19 rout.

San Fran, Detroit and Dallas all recorded only five losses during the 2023 campaign, but suddenly they're each 1-1 to begin this year.

The 49ers certainly have reason to be worried. Their offense was lifeless without Christian McCafrrey on Sunday, and there's buzz he could miss even more time than his stint on the injured reserve list requires, which means San Francisco may be without its star for the entire first half of the year.

Meanwhile, the Lions' offense hasn't been nearly as impressive it was in 2023. Detroit was pushed to brink in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Rams, and then it managed only 16 points against a Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense that isn't what it once was.

Then there's the hated Cowboys, who were truly exposed in Week 2 as the pretenders they are by Derek Carr and New Orleans' revived offense. That kind of catastrophic blowout where every part of Dallas' roster and coaching staff failed could be a sign of things to come for a team that continually plays down to its opponents.

It's safe to say the Eagles appear to be winners of Week 2 without even touching the field. Now they could start to create some distance between them and these other contending hopefuls by starting the campaign 2-0.

Considering how disappointing the Atlanta Falcons were in their opener, there's a strong chance Philly does just that heading into Week 3.
