The Eagles made history today, being part of the first-ever schedule flex of NFL's Monday Night Football.

Instead of the country being forced to watch Chiefs vs. Patriots in NFL Week 15, Philly's contest with Seattle was moved from December 17th to the 18th instead.

That'll give the Eagles an extra day of rest following a tough matchup with the Cowboys, while a strong performance in front of a national audience could give Jalen Hurts the final push to win a competitive MVP race.

Eagles 2023 Schedule: Eagles vs. Seahawks Flexed to Monday Night Football on Dec. 18th

This will be Philadelphia's third Monday Night Football game of the year after defeating Tampa Bay and Kansas City, though the team will play the following Monday on Christmas as well against the New York Giants.

The Eagles have the NFL's best record with the presumptive MVP favorite in Hurts, and national games like these will give Philly the opportunity to prove the franchise belongs atop the standings.

Originally, the NFL expected the Patriots and Chiefs to jostle for playoff positioning. With New England instead fighting for the No. 1 pick in the draft, the powers that be knew they needed to make a change.

Thanks to the Patriots' ineptitude, the Eagles are part of history.
