The Eagles' chances to beat the Cowboys suffered a blow when safety Reed Blankenship was injured in the first half.

He's currently being evaluated for a concussion, though his absence would damage an already-leaky defense. Dallas hung 24 points on Philly though the first two quarters, leaving the Eagles a large defecit to overcome.

Now, they may have to make a surge without one of their most important defensive players.

Eagles Injury News: S Reed Blankenship Being Evaluated for Concussion

Blankenship has been excellent in his second season in Philadelphia, compiling 81 tackles, two interceptions and a fumble recovery as the Eagles jumped out to a 10-2 record.

He had three tackles prior to going out with the injury, leaving Philly vulnerable against a potent Cowboys attack.

We don't yet have an official word on Blankenship's status, but that he wasn't quickly ruled back in following initial tests is likely a bad indication.

The Eagles are in need of a bounce-back win after falling to the 49ers last week and that task becomes much more difficult without Blankenship.

This is an important stretch for Philadelphia. If the Eagles lose, they'll be in danger of losing the No. 1 seed. We'll see if Blankenship can return, though if he misses time then the Eagles may need to make a move.
