The Philadelphia Eagles have started the season a perfect 5-0 for the second straight year, but this group hasn't looked as dominant as the 2022 version. Injuries, especially on the defensive side of the ball, are certainly to blame for some of the struggles.

As a result, no one would be surprised if GM Howie Roseman is cooking up ways to imporve this contender-worthy roster ahead of the trade deadline. In fact, the rumors connecting Philly and a former All-Pro continue to swirl.

Eagles-Budda Baker Trade Rumors

In a recent article at CBS Sports, Cody Benjamin labeled the Eagles as the top "potential suitor" for Arizona Cardinals star Budda Baker. Philly is listed alongside the Jacksonville Jaguars and Detroit Lions.

This isn't the first time we've heard Baker-Eagles rumors floated. Although, the last meaningful update on the situation almost a month ago, and it was said the Cardinals weren't particularly motivated to move the ballhawk.

Perhaps a 1-4 start to the season has changed Arizona's mind. After all, this is a franchise that's much closer to a full-fledged rebuild than contending anytime soon, which would likely lead to key veterans being shipped off to acquire picks in upcoming drafts.

The five-time Pro Bowler would instantly give Philly's defense a shot in the arm it could use after some shaky performances in the secondary to begin the year He'd form an intimidating duo alongside Reed Blankenship, strengthening a unit that's lost the likes of Avonte Maddox and Zech McPherson already.

With 7 interceptions and 20 pass breakups over the last three years, a talent like Baker won't come cheap. But he's the exact kind of player a Super Bowl hopeful acquires to go all-in. Both sides would win in this scenario, as the Eagles land an impact veteran, while the Cardinals receive draft capital to start a new era.
