Eagles' Potential Reunion With Haason Reddick Squashed by NFL

The Philadelphia Eagles are 2-2 going into their bye week, as things have been inconsistent to start the regular season.
The defense is having trouble generating pressure and getting into the backfield. That's after they signed Bryce Huff in free agency. Unfortunately for Huff, he has underwhelmed tremendously in Philly.
He only has two total tackles with just three hurries and zero sacks. That has led to a lot of scrutiny about Huff. Fans were asking for the Eagles to send Huff back to New York in exchange for Haason Reddick but that dream has been shut down.
The #Jets situation with Haason Reddick still has no resolution & some wondered if NYJ could trade him back to the #Eagles. Turns out, per NFL rules, not possible.

Eagles News: Philadelphia Can’t Trade for Haason Reddick
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, teams can't trade a player and then reacquire them via trade until two years have passed.
That has shut down the thought of Reddick heading back to the Eagles. In theory, it sounded like a good idea but can't be brought to life.
Reddick has been in a contract dispute with New York since getting acquired earlier this year. He has yet to show up at the facility and hasn't played a snap for the Jets in 2024.
They badly miss his presence, but so do the Eagles. After four games, Philly is 30th in the NFL in team sacks (6). Linebacker Zach Baun has a team-high two sacks and that can't be the case going forward.
With the hope of Reddick returning tossed out the window, the Eagles need to find a way to generate pressure. If not, things will look bleak for the Eagles in 2024.
