Eagles' O-Line Suffers Another Concerning Injury on Monday
By Jovan Alford
The Philadelphia Eagles have been hit hard by the injury bug to start training camp as they’ve seen a couple of offensive linemen get banged up.
Second-year offensive guard Tyler Steen will reportedly be out for a bit due to a mild ankle injury he suffered on Saturday. The Eagles expected big things from Steen at the right guard spot after taking him in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
The good news for the Eagles is they have Mehki Becton ready to step in and get some reps at right guard. However, Steen isn’t the only offensive lineman dealing with an injury.
Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reported Monday that rookie offensive lineman Trevor Keegan injured his left arm during practice and walked off with his trainer. McLane added that the rookie O-lineman returned to practice but didn’t participate.
The Eagles cannot afford Keegan to be out for a significant amount of time as he’s the backup to starter Landon Dickerson. Keegan was drafted in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft out of the University of Michigan.
Philadelphia enters this season with a new era on the offensive line as Jason Kelce retired from football this offseason, leading to Cam Jurgens, who was the starting right guard to become the new starting center.
The Eagles pride themselves on having quality offensive linemen and don’t want to see multiple players hit the injury report before the first preseason game.
