Eagles Linked to Exciting Wide Receiver Prospect at Senior Bowl
The best collection of seniors in college football showcased their talents down in Mobile, Ala., for the 2024 Senior Bowl. Practices began on Jan. 30 and run through Feb. 1. This gives certain players an early start on impressing teams ahead of the NFL Draft.
The Philadelphia Eagles are one of the teams down in Mobile getting a look at the prospects. Philadelphia will be the market to add another pass-catcher to the wide receiver room and they've begun some research on a player from the National Champion Michigan Wolverines.
Eagles Met with Michigan WR Roman Wilson at Senior Bowl
In a talk with reporters on Jan. 31, Wilson said that he had a meeting with the Eagles.
Philadelphia has struggled to find a consistent contributor behind A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith. Wilson could help them tremendously in the department. They currently own two second-rounders, one third-rounder, and one fourth-rounder in the 2024 NFL Draft.
This abundance of mid-round picks allows the Eagles to potentially add Wilson. The Michigan product didn't put up staggering numbers in college due to the run-heavy nature of the Wolverine offense. Despite that, Wilson showed his ability to run away from defenders downfield and make contested catches throughout practices at the Senior Bowl.
The Hawaii native never went over 800 receiving yards in a season during his college career but his numbers didn't showcase his full potential. His best season did come in 2023, where he reeled in 48 receptions for 789 yards and 12 touchdowns.
With the NFL Draft coming up in April, Wilson has already made a great early impression on teams around the league.
