Eagles Have Golden Trade Opportunity After Latest NFL Suspension
The Philadelphia Eagles have a loaded roster heading into the 2024 season. General manager Howie Roseman made sure he was aggressive this offseason in improving the team.
Over the course of free agency and the NFL Draft, the Eagles upgraded both sides of the ball, adding guys like Saquon Barkley, Bryce Huff, Quinyon Mitchell, and Cooper DeJean.
The additions of the rookie CBs in Mitchell and DeJean made James Bradberry disposal.
The Eagles CB room is now stacked and Bradberry is likely the odd man out after his abysmal 2023 season.
Around the NFL, Cameron Sutton of the Pittsburgh Steelers was suspended for eight games without pay for violating the league's personal conduct policy. That now opens up a hole in their CB rotation and Bradberry may be the perfect option for them.
It's been a bleak trade market for Bradberry this offseason but a move to the Steelers makes a lot of sense. With a hole now created in the secondary, the Steelers may be gauging the market.
It wouldn't cost much to acquire Bradberry from Philly anyway. Across eight NFL seasons, the 30-year-old has compiled 381 total tackles, 112 pass deflections, and 19 interceptions. He's snagged an interception in every season and would provide them with a veteran presence to weather the storm in the first two months of the season.
Roseman has never been shy to make moves to help improve his ballclub so the idea of moving on from Bradberry isn't far-fetched. They would likely receive some Day 3 draft compensation in exchange for Bradberry which is better than nothing. Especially at this stage of the offseason.
