Eagles Free Agency Odds Project Potential All-Pro Offensive Addition
By Cem Yolbulan
Derrick Henry is one of the best offensive players hitting the free-agent market in the offseason. The Tennessee Titans running back is coming off another double-digit touchdown season and is showing no signs of slowing down. The 30-year-old rusher will draw plenty of interest around the NFL. Fortunately for Eagles fans, it looks like Philadelphia has as good of a shot as any to land the former Heisman Trophy winner.
According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Eagles have the second-best odds (+500) to land the All-Pro superstar.
Eagles One of the Favorites to Sign Derrick Henry
At this stage of his career, King Henry understandably wants to sign with a contender. That's why this list of teams makes a ton of sense. The Baltimore Ravens were already linked to Henry before the trade deadline, and they are the favorites to land him this time around with +200 odds.
Philadelphia similarly needs reinforcements in its running back rotation. D'Andre Swift is likely gone this offseason and the Eagles don't have any running backs under contract next season. With a decent amount of salary cap space available, Philadelphia could easily beat the rest of the suitors with a better offer for Henry.
In his eighth season in the NFL, Henry finished with 1,167 yards and 12 touchdowns, averaging 4.2 yards per carry. His 3.32 yards after contact shows that he is still at an elite level. Now that he has added more screen receiving to his repertoire, this could help extend his prime for a few more seasons.
