Eagles Fans Receive Excellent Update On Brandon Graham Contract Extension
By Cem Yolbulan
After the Philadelphia Eagles flamed out against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the playoffs, veteran defensive end Brandon Graham said that he would like to run it back with the Birds for a "farewell tour". He finally got his wish as the Eagles gave him a one-year contract extension, according to Adam Schefter.
Eagles News: Brandon Graham Staying for Another Season
The 35-year-old pass rusher is already the Eagles' all-time leader for games played with 195. In his 15th season with the team, he will build upon this record. He is also fourth all-time in sacks in Eagles history with 73.
Unsurprisingly, Graham is not the star wrecking ball defensively as he used to be. He had a down season in 2023 like the rest of the team, finishing with 16 combined tackles and three sacks. But he was extremely productive as recently as 2022 when he had 11 sacks during the Eagles' Super Bowl run.
There is a chance Graham has a bounce-back season under new defensive coordinator Vic Fangio. His snap count will likely see a further reduction, but he will continue to be a valuable veteran leading the young defensive line in a new defensive scheme.
The Eagles' defensive unit will likely look very different next season. The team is already having trade talks involving Josh Sweat and Haason Reddick. There will be new faces coming in to replace them. But Philadelphia can rely on Graham, who knows this team and the organization better than anyone. Let's hope his farewell tour ends with another Super Bowl.
