Eagles Fan Throws Popcorn at Nick Sirianni in NSFW Video
The Philadelphia Eagles' postseason hopes disappeared in the blink of an eye with Monday's embarrassing Wild Card loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Understandably, most Eagles fans are disappointed with how the campaign ended and some are even calling for head coach Nick Sirianni's job.
One Sirianni-hating fan took things to another level after the Wild Card loss, though. As the Eagles HC experienced the walk of shame as he exited Raymond James Stadium, an Eagles fan wearing a Haason Reddick jersey threw popcorn at Sirianni as another yelled, "You're [expletive]ing done, Nick!"
Unsurprisingly, it didn't take long for stadium security to escort the fan out of the area. You can check out the NSFW video of the incident on the NFL Memes account on X (formerly known as Twitter).
On one hand, fans in attendance at any game shouldn't throw things at players and coaches. Even if it's an object as seemingly harmless as popcorn, it's a classless move that could still wind up causing harm, if not legal trouble for the party in question.
On the other hand, it's understandable why an Eagles fan would feel that frustrated.
After all, this is a Philadelphia team that just competed in Super Bowl LVII last February. The Eagles were even 10-1 to start the 2023 regular season and although a good chunk of their wins weren't that dominant, they were still viewed as championship contenders. But instead of working towards playing in Las Vegas next month, the Birds will be watching from the sidelines after wasting Jason Kelce's final year.
Time will tell how the Eagles will rebound from this disappointing exit next season. There's no telling yet whether the franchise will run it back again with Sirianni and his staff or if they'll attempt to go in another coaching direction with all the legitimate candidates out there this offseason.
Who knows? Maybe even a rebuild is on the menu.
Regardless, it's shaping up to be a wild offseason in Philadelphia. Eagles fans better get their popcorn ready.
