Nick Sirianni is entering his fourth season as the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles. Despite three consecutive trips to the postseason and a Super Bowl appearance, the 43-year-old head coach could be on the hot seat if the 2024 season doesn't go according to plan. Sirianni has two more years under contract, but a repeat of the 2023 collapse could signal the end of his time in Philly.

After a 10-1 start last season, the Eagles finished the year losing five of their last six games and being outclassed by the Buccaneers in the Wild Card round. Philadelphia decided to retain Sirianni and replace his coordinators, bringing in Vic Fangio and Kellen Moore. The hope is that this is enough to turn things around.

If it's not, however, a big name on the sidelines is waiting for his opportunity to coach the Eagles. Legendary head coach Bill Belichick is reportedly trying to return to coaching in 2025 and the Eagles are already being thrown around as a potential landing spot. According to Colin Cowherd, the three teams Belichick is eyeing for his next job are Philadelphia, Buffalo, and Dallas.

Bill Belichick Reportedly Eyeing Eagles for 2025 Return

"The Belichick list from what I’ve heard are three teams: Philadelphia, Dallas and Buffalo. He would rather stay out east. He’s got his place in Nantucket. He golfs down in Jupiter, Florida. Bill doesn’t have any interest in moving everybody out west. The second thing, he would like the quarterback situation to be stable. The instability post-Brady was his downfall."

If Cowherd is right and Belichick would rather stay East and have an elite QB at the helm, the Eagles do seem like an obvious choice.

Philadelphia would also give him an excellent chance to break the record to become the winningest NFL coach of all time. He is currently 26 wins behind Don Shula and a couple of seasons with Jalen Hurts and the Eagles should help him get there.

For this to be a possibility, the Eagles would have to disappoint in the playoffs once again. As things stand now, the Eagles have the sixth-best odds (+1400) to win the Super Bowl next season on FanDuel Sportsbook.
