The Philadelphia Eagles already had one of the best teams in the NFL but continued to add a boatload of talent to the roster.

The only move that was a head-scratcher at first was the Eagles trading for Kenny Pickett. This deal opened the door for speculation surrounding Jalen Hurts but GM Howie Roseman shut it down completely.

He said, "[Jalen Hurts] is our franchise quarterback. I don’t think that there is anything that affects Jalen in terms of who we bring in at the quarterback position. We have tremendous faith and trust in him, and we communicate with him about anything we’re doing, just as we like to do with a bunch of our players to give a heads-up so he can welcome them to the team."

Eagles News: Howie Roseman Makes it Crystal Clear Jalen Hurts is the Franchise Quarterback

Roseman wanted to make it clear before rumors began to get out of control. Pickett is slated to be the No. 2 QB behind Hurts after things didn't work out in Pittsburgh.

Hurts is certainly the better player and is only one year removed from inking his massive extension. Last April, Hurts and the Eagles agreed to a five-year, $255 million deal.

There was never a real shot that Pickett would have been the starting quarterback so it's a good thing that Roseman nipped this rumor quick.

As the face of the franchise, it's only right that Hurts is notified of the moves being made. Especially in the quarterback room.

Nonetheless, the Eagles have one of the best rosters in the league and own a real shot of reaching Super Bowl LIX. They currently have the seventh-best odds in the NFL to win the whole thing at +1600. Head over to FanDuel Sportsbook, claim your sign-up bonus, and take advantage of these odds to back the Eagles.
