Eagles 7-Round Mock Draft After Super Bowl: Secondary Gets Big Boost
By Randy Gurzi
Round 5, Pick 1: Dallin Holker, TE, Colorado State
Dallas Goedert continues to be a reliable tight end for the Eagles but behind him, the depth is questionable. They’re also potentially going to be thinner at the position with Albert Okwuegbunam and Jack Stoll each hitting free agency. That’s why it should be no surprise to see a tight end join them with their first of three picks in Round 5.
Dallin Holker is the choice and the former BYU tight end broke out in 2023 after heading to Colorado State. He hauled in 64 passes for 767 yards and six touchdowns. Outside of Goedert, no tight end in Philadelphia threatened defenses much in the passing game; Holker could change that.
Round 5, Pick 2: Cody Schrader, RB, Missouri
Back on the clock in the fifth, the Eagles now select Cody Schrager from Missouri. Philadelphia leaned heavily on D’Andre Swift last year and he topped 1,000 yards for the first time in his career. He’s another pending free agent and while the Eagles should try and retain him, they also need to add more talent to the running back room.
Swift is joined in free agency by Boston Scott and Rashaad Penny, and it seems unlikely they all return. That opens the door for Schrader who proved to be a well-rounded back at Missouri. In his final season with the Tigers, he had 1,627 yards with 14 touchdowns.
