Former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz has been searching for a new employment opportunity ever since the 2023 NFL season began. The former NFL MVP finalist received his fair share of suitors but ultimately wanted to wait for the right situation to continue his career.

Wentz suporters don't have to wait any longer to find out where the veteran QB will play next as his job hunt finally came to an end on Tuesday.

Carson Wentz News

Sources close to ESPN's Adam Schefter report that Wentz is signing with the Los Angeles Rams for the remainder of the 2023 campaign.

It isn't too surprising to see the ex-North Dakota State product signing with a QB-needy team. With Matthew Stafford sidelined with a thumb injury in Week 9, the Rams were forced to start Brett Rypien against the Green Bay Packers. The journeyman signal-caller didn't look like he belonged in the NFL, going 13-of-28 (46.4%) in the pocket for 130 passing yards with an interception.

Even though Stafford could start as soon as this week, the Rams clearly didn't want to risk being forced to start Rypien again.

It'll be interesting to see how Wentz performs (if he plays at all) following an extended offseason. He spent the 2022 season with the rival Washington Commanders, throwing for 1,755 yards and 11 touchdowns (to nine INTs) with an 80.2 passer rating in seven starts.

Although that's a drop-off from what he was capable of in the past, it's still a major improvement over Rypien's latest performance.

While his career hasn't panned out as planned, it'd be nice to see Wentz have some sort of resurgence. The Eagles likely wouldn't have made Super Bowl LII without his MVP-quality regular season, earning him a special place in Philly fans' hearts until the end of time. Besides, playing with elite weapons like Cooper Kupp and Puca Nacua might be what he needs to return to form.

Unfortunately, the Eagles already played the Rams in Week 5, meaning we won't get a chance to go up against our former gunslinger this year.

Nonetheless, all the best to Wentz on the next chapter of his journey.
