The Philadelphia 76ers made sure they were aggressive in free agency to add playmakers around Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey.

After getting bounced in the first round by the New York Knicks, president of basketball operations Daryl Morey didn't waste time improving the squad.

The 76ers signed Paul George, Andre Drummond, Eric Gordan, and Caleb Martin over the past week.

Martin spoke with the Philadelphia media for the first time since joining the team and he took a shot at his former squad the Miami Heat.

76ers News: Caleb Martin Joined Philly Cause of the Culture

Martin said, "Being a part of that winning culture, and something bigger than yourself is something that draws you in."

He was with the Heat for the past three seasons, which saw them make the playoffs every year, notch two Eastern Conference Final appearances and one NBA Finals berth. So it's a bit surprising that he took a shot at his former team.

That last bit of him saying "something bigger than yourself" is jarring and makes you think there may have been some troubles behind the scenes.

Nonetheless, Martin is excited to join Philly and gives them much-needed help in the frontcourt. He's a smooth swingman who is able to space the floor and also create his own shot.

Last season in Miami, he averaged a career-high 10 points with 4.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. He also shot 34.9% from downtown.

Now he will have the opportunity to help the 76ers become serious title contenders during the 2024 season and be apart of the culture that he's so fond of.
