Breaking Down How the Eagles Can Clinch NFC East in Week 17
By Joe Summers
The Eagles picked up a necessary victory over the Giants and now have an opportunity to clinch a division title in Week 17.
They'll need a couple of things to go their way, but a win over the lowly Cardinals is the first step. If Philadelphia wins the NFC East, they'll likely hold the No. 2 seed in the playoffs.
That'll go a long way towards returning to the Super Bowl. Home games are easier than road ones, after all. Here is how the Eagles can clinch the division:
How the Eagles Can Clinch NFC East
Dallas has to lose to Detroit, first and foremost. The Cowboys are solid favorites, so sportsbooks at least think they'll get the victory, but a Lions win opens the door.
Should the Lions beat the Cowboys, a simple win over the Cardinals will give the Eagles another NFC East crown. If Philly and Dallas both win, the Eagles can clinch in Week 18 by beating the Giants again.
It's a tight race, but thankfully the Eagles have a game lead already. While it's still possible to get the No. 1 seed as well, the most probable scenario is a 2 seed behind the 49ers.
With two weeks left in the season, the Eagles sit with an easier schedule than their divisional foes. Take care of business and celebratory shirts and hats await.
The Eagles are huge favorites and FanDuel Sportsbook is celebrating the holiday season with a $150 bonus if they beat the Cardinals! Bet $5 or more (with a $10 deposit) on the Eagles to win and you'll get $150 in bonus bets if they do. You need to act quickly, so sign up for FanDuel now!
