Week 11 of the 2023 season brings with it a huge matchup for the Philadelphia Eagles as they take on the Kansas City Chiefs. Not only is this a rematch of last year's Super Bowl, but it also marks another game for Chiefs head coach Andy Reid against his former team.
Reid spoke with the Philadelphia media for the first time on Thursday to break down the upcoming showdown.
Andy Reid speaking to Philly media says he doesn’t see a “whole lot different” with the #Eagles this year compared to last year

“They are still a very good football team”
First and foremost, Reid stated the Eagles are "still a very good football team" following their offseason changes.
That includes on defense, where Jonathan Gannon departed and Sean Desai took his place. Reid believes Desai is doing a great job in his first year helming this unit.

Andy Reid on the differences with the #Eagles defense with Sean Desai compared to Jonathan Gannon
Speaking of that group, Reid was very complimentary of the players who are leading Philadelphia's stout run defense. He said the team drafted "a really good player," which is likely standout rookie Jalen Carter, while also joking No. 91 (Fletcher Cox) "doesn't seem to get old."
Andy Reid on Eagles run defense compared to last year: "Well, they drafted a really good player. And No. 91 doesn't seem to get old. I'm not sure what you guys asre feeding him. But he is something else. Those cheesesteaks are working."

Reid had some things to say about quarterback Jalen Hurts as well. He noted he's a "big fan" of the dual threat who "always seems to be in control."
Andy Reid on Jalen Hurts: “I’m a big fan of his. He’s a really good football player. He can throw the ball. He can run the ball... He always seems to be in control.”

Eagles fans should expect nothing less than pure class from the team's ex-head coach. He obviously still holds a ton of respect toward the organization, and it's clear he enjoys seeing familiar faces again. As the ultimate competitor, Reid surely enjoys the challenge of trying to find ways to beat one of the leaugue's top contenders again as well.
With the Chiefs and Eagles both having obvious paths to the Super Bowl, it'd be no surprise if this matchup is just a taste of what's to come in February.
