76ers vs. Knicks NBA Opening Odds Highlight Joel Embiid's Importance on Friday
By Joe Summers
The 76ers have wins in three of their last four games after a convincing win against the Bulls and now take on another Eastern Conference foe in the Knicks on Friday night.
New York just acquired OG Anunoby last week for RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley, picking up a pair of wins in their two games since the blockbuster trade. These teams haven't played yet in 2023-24, but this is a potential playoff preview between two strong Eastern Conference squads.
Opening odds expect Philadelphia to show why its one of the favorites to win the NBA Finals. Here are the current odds before we jump into what's at stake.
Knicks vs. 76ers NBA Opening Odds
Philadelphia is a six-point home favorite over New York with -235 odds on the moneyline and a total set at 231.5, implying an offensive battle that the 76ers win.
Joel Embiid is among the most dominant players in the league, looking like an even better version of himself than the one that secured MVP honors last season.
The 76ers sit third in the Eastern Conference, just three games behind the Celtics, giving tonight's matchup extra importance. They've been one of the best teams to bet on in the league, going 10-3 against the spread (ATS) in their last 13 contests.
On the other side, the Knicks were slumping before two straight excellent efforts following the Anunoby trade. They're just 3-7 in their last 10 games on the road though, so the 76ers have an edge.
Philadelphia won four of the last six contests between these teams and it looks like the organization will come through once again.
