6. Justin Evans

Safety was another heavily scrutinized position this past for the Eagles. While Reed Blankenship held down one starting spot, Philadelphia never found a true solution alongside him.

Justin Evans was the first player who got a crack in the starting lineup. The former second-round pick logged starts in four of the Eagles' first five games, showing promising playmaking early on with two passes defended and a forced fumble.

Unfortunately, a knee injury put his season to a halt. He missed the entire campaign after Week 5, forcing Philly to scramble for someone to take his place. Many hoped the trade for former All-Pro Kevin Byard would be the solution, but that ended up being one of Howie Roseman's misses.

Availability has been an issue for Evans throughout his career, so it's no wonder other franchises are showing trepidation in signing him this offseason.

7. Marquise Goodwin

The last player on this list is one fans might not even remember was an Eagle. Philadelphia traded for Marquise Goodwin during the 2020 offseason in hopes of adding the speedster to the offense.

However, in July of that year, Goodwin decided to opt out of the season due to COVID-19 concerns. Once the 2020 campaign was over, the Eagles exercised the agreed-upon terms of that trade with the San Francisco 49ers to revert Goodwin back to the Bay Area and save cap space in the process.

The Niners quickly cut Goodwin, who's since bounced around the league. He most recently spent the 2023 season with the Cleveland Browns, but went almost unnoticed while recording just 13 targets and 4 receptions.
