Whenever you're looking for possible free agency options, it's never a bad idea to look at which players have previously been connected to the coaches in charge. That connective tissue matters in NFL free agency, especially the deeper you get into the offseason.

One option available to add some depth to the Philadelphia Eagles' defensive line is former Broncos and Panthers defensive tackle DeShawn Williams. Williams has been a fun success story over the last couple of seasons, fighting his way onto the Broncos' active roster before ultimately becoming a starter and second contract player for the Panthers.

Williams is very well-liked by coaches he's worked with in the past, and it just so happens the Eagles have had somewhat of an affinity for former Broncos in recent years.

Vic Fangio's presence at the defensive coordinator spot doesn't exactly give him roster autonomy, but it certainly will give him some say. Fangio had Williams while he was in Denver and watched him go from a reserve/futures contract player to a key contributor defensively. After playing two years for Fangio in Denver and another year under Ejiro Evero (who runs a version of the Fangio defense) in Carolina, Williams could be a nice fit to add some depth to Philadelphia's defensive front.
