5. Kwon Alexander, Linebacker

One of the key reasons why the Philadelphia Eagles defense went from great to one of the worst in the entire league last season was the loss of their two starting linebackers.

Both TJ Edwards and Kyzir White bolted in 2023 free agency, leaving the Eagles to pick up a lot of pieces. Not only was Philly changing schemes with Jonathan Gannon leaving, but the guys communicating the play calls at the second level were also gone.

It's going to be non-negotiable for the floor to be raised at the linebacker position under new defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, and a player like Kwon Alexander seems to fit what the Eagles traditionally look for at the position.

Alexander is a speedy, productive linebacker who doesn't seem to be able to find a long-term home in the NFL for whatever reason. But playing behind this Eagles defensive line, how could he not have success? The Eagles would be giving their linebacker group a much-needed upgrade in the depth department while also getting some veteran insurance for Nakobe Dean, whose pre-draft injury concerns have unfortunately come into play a little bit too frequently so far in his NFL career.

Alexander had 41 tackles in nine games last year for the Pittsburgh Steelers, so he could even stay in the state of Pennsylvania.
