5. Richie James, WR/Returner

The Eagles have two legit wideouts in A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. Brown was on a tear to start the 2023 campaign before struggling down the stretch. His issues should be resolved now that offensive coordinator Brian Johnson is out. Smith could see an uptick in production as well with Kellen Moore, who has typically led his team to impressive statistics.

Outside of those two, however, Philadelphia was hurting for production. They hope to have addressed this with the addition of DeVante Parker and Paris Campbell. Parker was once a 1,000-yard receiver and while that’s not who he is at this point, he’s still a decent WR3. Campbell is a decent option in the slot and can return kickoffs.

Each pickup was smart for Howie Roseman but he should continue to look for depth. One potential signing that could be beneficial would be Richie James.

Listed as a wideout, James has made his mark as a returner for most of his career. He had just 114 yards receiving for the Chiefs in 2023 but averaged 10 yards per punt return while adding 187 yards on kickoffs. Despite his limited production overall, James has shown an ability to make an impact as a receiver. He proved this in 2022 when he had 57 receptions for 569 yards and four touchdowns for the New York Giants.

James would give them more depth than they had last year while also providing them with a solid punt returner as well.
