6 Flyers Who Won't Return Next Season

After a disappointing 2023-24 campaign, don't count on seeing these six Philadelphia Flyers back with the organization next season.

Flyers fans haven't seen much of Carter Hart this season — 26 games, to be exact. The 25-year-old has been on a leave of absence since January due to his being named in the 2018 Hockey Canada scandal.

As time goes on, it's more than likely that we've already seen the last of Hart in a Flyers jersey.

TSN's Rick Westhead reported on April 9 that the case's pre-trial documents must be filed before Oct. 23 and that the judge "scheduled 15 days beginning Nov. 25 for hearings related to those motions." In other words, there's no chance that Hart will be with the team at the start of the 2024-25 season.

Furthermore, Hart's contract is over at the end of next season. Even though he'll be a restricted free agent, the Flyers might choose not to re-sign him depending on how the case goes. The fact that Philadelphia already has two promising goaltenders in Samuel Ersson and Ivan Fedotov shows that Hart isn't needed as much anymore.
